Pregnant Belly Casts
The Casting Process
During the casting process the expectant mother is placed in a semi-lying position. This takes the stain off the diaphragm and helps to ease the breathing.
Additional pillows are provided for back support. The expectant mother’s hands placed on the belly , can also be included in the cast as well as the husband’s hand.
Special casting material, which picks up all the detail of the skin, is applied to the belly. A plaster bandage shell is then applied to reinforce the delicate casting material.
The entire process from start to finish takes about 30 minutes.
